How FairyTales stories are made

Every story, picture, narration and translation in FairyTales is made automatically by artificial intelligence services, from what you tell us about your child and tonight's story. No person writes, draws or reviews it before you see it.

What our checks do, and don't do

  • We check what you type before a story is written, and refuse requests that are not suitable for a children's story.
  • We check every finished story for safety, and withhold a story that fails. A withheld or failed story returns its credits.
  • We check photos and refuse unsuitable ones.

These checks are automated. They catch a lot, but they will not catch everything, and they cannot know your child. A story can still contain mistakes, odd details, things that do not make sense, or moments that are wrong for your child: something frightening, sad, or simply not how your family does things.

What we ask of you

  • Read the whole story and look at its pictures before a child does. That is why every story stays locked until you approve it.
  • Supervise a child who reads or listens to a story.
  • Edit or rewrite anything you would rather your child did not hear, or don't use the story.
  • Report a problem if a story or picture is unsafe or wrong, so we can improve our checks.

What a story is, and isn't

  • A story is fiction. Characters may do things that would be unsafe in real life; talk to your child about the difference where it matters.
  • A story is not advice. Stories about a new sibling, a fear or a loss are meant to comfort, not to treat. They do not replace a doctor, therapist, counsellor or teacher.
  • A picture of a character is an artistic interpretation, drawn so it can never pass for a photograph. It is not an accurate depiction of a real person.
  • Generated content may resemble content made for others, and may not be protected by copyright.
